Original work painted in ink and acrylic on raw linen canvas by artist Catherine Plante in 2025.

This work is called Our Natural Icons No. 17 - Holy Kestrel. It depicts a beautiful American kestrel surrounded by golden leaves and fern silhouettes. This country bird is our smallest bird of prey and, unfortunately, its species is endangered in our countryside. I love how the raw material brings out the highly detailed illustrations. I named the works in this series “icons” in reference to religious symbols because forests and rivers are my cathedrals. For me, nature is the purest and most beautiful thing there is.

This work is made on raw linen canvas and a hanging device is installed on the back.

Includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
