The original artwork The Chipping Sparrow's Nest was inspired by the discovery of several small nests in lilac branches. After some research, I discovered that the Chipping Sparrow is one of the birds that can nest in this type of habitat. To my eye, the combination of the blooming lilac, the small nest, and this pair of birds was so charming that I absolutely had to depict it.
This artwork was hand-painted using alcohol ink, pigment ink, and acrylic on 250gsm acid-free Bristol board in 2021. A fixative and UV-protective varnish have been applied to the artwork, but it is recommended to avoid exposure to moisture or direct sunlight.
Format: 16 x 12 inches
Includes certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
