The original artwork The Blue Jay and the Staghorn Sumac is an ode to autumn and its colors! In this artwork we find a magnificent Blue Jay about to perch on a fruiting staghorn sumac branch. The leaves of this tree have taken on flamboyant autumnal hues. The texture in the leaves was obtained by pressing the leaves (coated with inks) onto the paper. I thus obtained very realistic vein effects. This artwork was handmade with inks (acrylic and pigment) and acrylic on 270 g acid-free Bristol paper in 2024. A fixative and an anti-UV varnish were applied to the artwork. The purchase of the original artwork includes the certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. The format of the original artwork is 24 x 19 inches.
This artwork is also available as an art print (reproduction). Each reproduction of this limited edition is numbered and hand-signed by the artist. It is printed in the studio with pigment inks on fine art paper, white or natural, 100% cotton, and acid-free. This 16 x 12 inch print is limited to 50 copies and will not be reprinted.
