The original work Acton Vale Wetlands was created as part of the project Beauty and Mystery of Acton's Wetlands, completed in 2025. It is my interpretation of the large wetland complex in Acton Vale.
This place, which is dear to my heart, has been explored time and time again. Winter and summer alike, I have walked there and marveled at its flora and fauna. I have even raised colonies of bees there that have pollinated the flowers of its peat bogs. This ecosystem amazes us with its unique peat bog flora; it is teeming with plants rarely seen in the region. The four-toed salamander, a native amphibian that may be designated as threatened or vulnerable, hides in its moss. White-tailed deer and coyotes thrive in its woods. The peregrine falcon, for its part, flies over its lands in search of its next prey.
This work was created by hand with inks (acrylic and pigment) and acrylic on acid-free Bristol board in 2025. A fixative and UV-resistant varnish have been applied to the work. The purchase of the original work includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. THE ORIGINAL WORK IS SOLD FRAMED, in a local wood frame (late cherry wood) made by Atelier 685.
This work is also available as an art print (reproduction). Each reproduction of this limited edition is numbered and signed by hand by the artist. It is printed in the studio with pigment inks on natural art paper, 100% cotton and acid-free. The print run for this 16 x 12 inch format is limited to 50 copies and will not be reprinted. Sold unframed.
